Governor Kehoe Announces Two Judicial Appointments

Today, Governor Mike Kehoe announced two judicial appointments to the 16th and 29th Judicial Circuits.

Ashley Garrett, of Lee’s Summit, was appointed as an Associate Circuit Judge for Jackson County in the 16th Judicial Circuit.

Ms. Garrett is a senior attorney at Sanders, Warren and Russell, LLP. She previously served as an assistant public defender in the Missouri Public Defender System and as deputy county counselor for Jackson County. She remains active in her community through her involvement with the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Foundation's Student Law Academy, where she serves as a committee member and mentor. She is also a 20‑year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Clark Atlanta University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law. Garrett will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Susan E. Long.

Troy Salchow, of Carl Junction, was appointed as a Circuit Judge for Jasper County in the 29th Judicial Circuit.

Mr. Salchow is the founder and owner of The Salchow Law Firm and serves as the city attorney and prosecutor for Webb City. He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Jasper County Bar Association, and the Missouri Municipal Attorney Association. He earned dual bachelor degrees in communications and social science from Pittsburg State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law. Salchow will fill the vacancy created by the appointment of Judge Joseph L. Hensley to the Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District.
